Our History

Shri. Eklingji Mahadev Foundation, Samast Trivedi Mevada Brahmin Samaj, Ahmedabad.

In the heart of Ahmedabad City, auspicious ground of Karanmukteshwar Mahadev, a first ever Garba Program for all Trivedi Mevada families was organised under the banner of Akhil Hind Trivedi Mevada Brhamin Parisad-Chhatralay in the year 2011. All arrangement for the program such as mandap, musical orchestra and food were sponsored by “Shri. Dashkoshi Trivedi Mevada Brahmin Samaj” Ahmedabad. Whereas prices were distributed by the Parisad-Chhatralya. The program was a grand success many trivedi mevada families living in Ahmedabad participate with enthusiasm and excitement. The program organised by parisad-chhatralaya was unprecedented and its success was undescritable. Inspired by the success of the program some enthusiastic members from different section of Akhil Hind Trivedi Mevada Brahman Parisad Chhatralaya, who initiated planned and made the program successful event had a new idea. They thought if such religious, social, educational and other programs can be organised frequently for all Trivedi Mevada Brahmin families residing in Ahmedabad, it will help them to come in contact and develop good relationship among them they thought to have an independent organisation in Ahmedabad for the very purpose. In other cities like Mumbai and Vadodara such organisation are already in action. The organisation in Mumbai is granted a status of separate section of parisad-chhatralaya. In Ahmedabad, also such an organisation is reasonably justified.

To convert this thought in reality and to develop the seed of the thought into a huge tree, some friends like Shri. Mukeshbhai Bhatt, Shri. Rudradattbhai Vyas, Shri. Jaswantbhai Pandya, Shri. Bhagwatbhai Joshi, Shri. Maheshbhai Gor, Shri. Shaunakbhai Vyas, Shri. Kiritbhai Pandya, Shri. Dilipbhai Bhatt had a meeting on 2nd Sep 2011 for discussing the above idea. They all expressed their views on need for such a local organisation as well as various activities that can be done by it and resultant possibilities for the unity and development of our community. We have different organisation in Ahmedabad working very well, but they are working for the families of particular section of our community. If an organisation with greater coverage is established in Ahmedabad, it will include all families of all sections leaving in the city. Such an organisation can by way of different activities bring the families into contact irrespective of their sections. This may further help our community in the field of employment, business, education, profession and other such an organisation will definitely unite the community and will help an individual as well as the community for the interest of our forthcoming generation and to keep our community united such an organisation in

The essence of all views and discussion was that an independent covering all Trivedi Mewada Brhamin Families residing in Ahmedabad and its surroundings must be established and it will invite our community though various activities. This new organisation will not function as a competitor of other organisations of our community but it will try to supplement them, in the development of our community.

Our ancestors migrated from Rajasthan (Mewad) and settled in different places, so we are divided into different section, but we all from the same Trivedi Mevada Community.

For those who have now settled in Ahmedabad, it is necessary to have such an organisation. Shri. Eklingji Mahadev is our Ishtadev of all of us. That is why the name of new organisation was proposed the name ‘Shri Eklingji Mahadev Foundation’. This organisation is an organisation of Samasth Trivedi Mewada Brahman Samaj, Ahmedabad. To make our organisation to flourish as a legal entity, it was decided to have its constitution framed and to have it registered with the Charity Commissioner office as a trust. The responsibility of that procedure was entrusted to Shri. Shaunakbhai Vyas. It was decided to enrol founder members from among the members present in the meeting.

After the first meeting several meetings were held and every time the number of person present went on increasing. Everyone was confident that the rising the contact among the Trivedi Mewada Brhamin families will have multi-fold families. Involvement in various activities will result introduction and interaction among the families. With the help of various activities related to religion, social, educational, vocational, etc,. The main aim the organisation is the development of All Trivedi Mewada Brhamin families.
